LiveText overview

LiveText lets you display one or more texts from external systems on your LED perimeter display and update them during operation.

Typical applications include:

  • Scores
  • Times
  • Betting odds
  • Match statistics
  • Dynamic content, for example from social-media data sources such as Twitter

LEDVIZ maintains a list of tags and their associated text. Whenever a text changes, the new value is forwarded to the output. The output creates a transparent texture and places it as an additional layer over the corresponding advertisement. This works with both static graphics and animations.

The tag list is maintained globally. A tag refers to a particular graphic or animation: wherever that file is used in the output, its associated layer is displayed.

You can define several tags for the same graphic or animation. The practical number depends on the computer’s performance. The existing documentation describes football Bundesliga sequences with more than 25 LiveText outputs, controlled by a Twitter/Instagram crawler.

A text tag renders its received value as text. To display an image, use the separate image type, whose value references an image file. The relevant settings are covered in the LiveText tag reference.

The older overview lists emojis as unsupported. Reliable emoji rendering is therefore not documented.
