Set up LiveText tags
This guide describes how to define LiveText tags manually in the XML project file. The <TAGS> block belongs at the top level within the project, alongside brightness zones or segments. Each tag has its own <TAG> block.
Example
Section titled “Example”<TAGS> <TAG> <TAG-FILE>BNN_LIVE_Premium_15min.avi</TAG-FILE> <TAG-NAME>#TAG1</TAG-NAME> <TAG-VALUE>2:0</TAG-VALUE> <TAG-DEFAULT>WILLKOMMEN</TAG-DEFAULT> <TAG-FONT>Tahoma</TAG-FONT> <TAG-SIZE>50</TAG-SIZE> <TAG-COLOR-RED>255</TAG-COLOR-RED> <TAG-COLOR-GREEN>255</TAG-COLOR-GREEN> <TAG-COLOR-BLUE>255</TAG-COLOR-BLUE> <TAG-BOLD>1</TAG-BOLD> <TAG-ITALIC>0</TAG-ITALIC> <TAG-CAPITALIZE>0</TAG-CAPITALIZE> <TAG-COUNT>4</TAG-COUNT> <TAG-Y>10</TAG-Y> <TAG-X>1024</TAG-X> <TAG-X2>2048</TAG-X2> <TAG-X3>4096</TAG-X3> <TAG-X4>8192</TAG-X4> <TAG-LINE-WIDTH>2550</TAG-LINE-WIDTH> <TAG-TIME-IN>2</TAG-TIME-IN> <TAG-TIME-OUT>20</TAG-TIME-OUT> <TAG-ALIGN>center</TAG-ALIGN> </TAG></TAGS>Add further <TAG> blocks before the closing </TAGS> element.
File matching and content
Section titled “File matching and content”| Property | Type / example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
<TAG-FILE> |
String, werbung.avi |
Name of the file for which the layer is created. |
<TAG-NAME> |
String, #TAG1 |
Unique name used to address the tag externally. The name must be used for this tag only. |
<TAG-VALUE> |
String, 2:0 |
Currently stored value. Optional unless an initial value is required. |
<TAG-DEFAULT> |
String, WILLKOMMEN |
Fallback value when an empty text is received or <TAG-VALUE> is empty. |
<TAG-MIDI> |
Comma-separated strings | In addition to file matching, restricts display to sequences with the specified MIDI keys. Separate multiple keys with commas. |
Font and color
Section titled “Font and color”| Property | Type / values | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
<TAG-FONT> |
String, Tahoma |
Font name registered in Windows. Use the name shown among the installed Windows fonts, not the font file’s filename. |
<TAG-SIZE> |
Integer, e.g. 50 |
Font size. The original guide recommends values above 50 for readability. |
<TAG-COLOR-RED> |
Integer, 0 to 255 |
Red component of the text color. |
<TAG-COLOR-GREEN> |
Integer, 0 to 255 |
Green component of the text color. |
<TAG-COLOR-BLUE> |
Integer, 0 to 255 |
Blue component of the text color. |
<TAG-BOLD> |
Boolean, 0 or 1 |
Normal or bold rendering. |
<TAG-ITALIC> |
Boolean, 0 or 1 |
Italic rendering. |
<TAG-CAPITALIZE> |
Boolean, 0 or 1 |
Converts the entire text to uppercase. |
Position and text width
Section titled “Position and text width”| Property | Type / values | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
<TAG-COUNT> |
Integer, 0 to 4 |
Number of horizontal positions to use. |
<TAG-X>, <TAG-X2>, <TAG-X3>, <TAG-X4> |
Integer | Horizontal positions in pixels within the graphic. 0 is the left edge. |
<TAG-Y> |
Integer | Vertical position in pixels within the graphic. 0 is the top edge. Fonts may include space above their characters, so the visible text does not necessarily start at that exact pixel. |
<TAG-LINE-WIDTH> |
Integer | Maximum text width. Current application code also requires TAG-LINE-AUTO for automatic line adjustment. |
<TAG-ALIGN> |
String: left, right, center |
Aligns the text to the left, right or center of the specified X positions. |
Show and hide timing
Section titled “Show and hide timing”| Property | Type / example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
<TAG-TIME-IN> |
Decimal, 15.4 |
Time in seconds during playback when the text appears. Use a period as the decimal separator. |
<TAG-TIME-OUT> |
Decimal, 15.4 |
Time in seconds during playback when the text is hidden. |
When positioning the graphic, start with <TAG-TIME-IN> set to 0 and a high <TAG-TIME-OUT> value such as 999. Refine the show and hide times afterwards.
Before rendering, the renderer cleans up characters such as line breaks and repeated spaces.
Other tag types
Section titled “Other tag types”| Property | Type / values | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
<TAG-TYPE> |
String: text, progress, image |
Defaults to text. With image, <TAG-VALUE> and <TAG-DEFAULT> are interpreted as image references. The original reference also lists progress but does not explain that type further. |
<TAG-WIDTH>, <TAG-HEIGHT> |
Integer | Output width and height of the referenced image when using <TAG-TYPE>image</TAG-TYPE>. |
Automatic line adjustment
Section titled “Automatic line adjustment”In the current application, <TAG-LINE-AUTO> controls automatic adjustment. Its default value is FALSE. A positive <TAG-LINE-WIDTH> alone does not enable this feature. Set <TAG-LINE-AUTO>TRUE</TAG-LINE-AUTO> to enable automatic adjustment. Check the result in the LEDVIZ version you use.
This reference is based on the existing LEDVIZ documentation. Some screenshots show an earlier application interface. Original documentation
